ABOUT AIRSOFT PISTOLS
The following info is supplied as a guide, and we hope that it will help you choose the correct Airsoft Pistols for you from the large number of outstanding Airsoft Guns and BB Guns available on our website and in-store.
SPRING AIRSOFT PISTOLS
Spring-powered Airsoft Pistols are a type of Airsoft Pistol that uses a manually compressed spring to propel plastic BBs. These airsoft pistols are typically single-shot, requiring the user to manually cock the slide before each shot. When the spring is compressed and released, it drives a piston forward, creating air pressure that propels the BB out of the barrel. These airsoft pistols are often considered ideal for beginners due to their simplicity, affordability, and reliability. They do not require batteries, Gas, or CO2 to operate, making them a low-maintenance and cost-effective option for casual shooting and target practice.
GAS AIRSOFT PISTOLS
Gas-powered Airsoft Pistols use compressed gas, typically Green Gas, Propane, or CO2 (carbon dioxide). These Airsoft Pistols use stored gas to propel plastic BBs and are widely favoured for their realistic operation and shooting experience. There are two main types of gas-powered airsoft pistols: Gas Blowback (GBB) and Non-Blowback (NBB) models. Gas Blowback Pistols simulate the recoil and slide movement of a real firearm, providing enhanced realism, while Non-Blowback prioritise gas efficiency and quieter operation. Gas and CO2 Airsoft Pistols offer strong performance, realistic handling, and fast follow-up shots. However, they require a regular supply of gas or CO2 cartridges, which adds to the ongoing operating cost.
CAN I BUY AN AIRSOFT PISTOL IF I AM UNDER 18?
Sorry, but the minimum age to purchase any Airsoft Pistol is 18. However, there is no age restriction on owning or operating an Airsoft Pistol. It is within the law for a person who is 18 years or older to purchase a two-tone (non-black/tan/gold/silver) Airsoft Pistol and gift it to a person under the age of 18 to own and operate. So, a parent can buy a two-tone airsoft pistol and give it to their child to use or keep, regardless of their age. We recommend that an adult supervise persons under 14 years of age.
