ARES AMOEBA AS-01 ‘STRIKER’ BOLT SNIPER RIFLE
Designed as a sniper rifle that delivers outstanding performance both for experts and airsoft enthusiasts that want to be proficient in the world of sniping, this AS-01 ‘Striker’ is an outstanding design. It is easy to operate, yet contains many high-quality features not normally found in this price bracket such as a Top-Down Hop-up unit and a short pull bolt. The most notable feature is the simple effectiveness of the design which results in an easy to strip and maintain gun; the bolt can be removed with a single pin. The AS-01 also uses AEG springs, rather than sniper springs – a feature that allows users to easily replace the spring with a wide range of common AEG springs without modification, safe in the knowledge that their AS-01 will continue to function properly. As an additional safety feature, the AS-01 has a weapon cocked warning marker, which indicates to the user when the weapon has been cocked and is ready to fire.
This sniper rifle is supplied with a 45 round medium-capacity magazine: over double the ammunition capacity compared to most Airsoft sniper rifles. Reloading has been made as easy as possible thanks to the use of an ambidextrous magazine release and magazine guides in the magazine well. The mag-release operates from the magazine well, however, it has also been extended into the trigger guard, allowing users to use their index finger to release the magazine without having to let go of the gun for a quicker reload. The airsoft gun chassis has been designed to be as ergonomic as possible, constructed from high strength and lightweight polymers, the stock and grip have rounded edges for a comfortable hold, and features a removable grip plate which can be exchanged for other sizes. A standard universal bipod swivel mount is located at the front of the AS-01, allowing for the installation of a wide range of bipods.

Does this airsoft sniper rifle need a battery or gas or CO2 to make it work?
No, most airsoft sniper rifles are spring powered unless stated in the description. Spring sniper rifles use a cocking lever or similar, such as a bolt, to set the spring and firing system. Spring airsoft sniper rifles are great fun - ideal for target shooting as they fire one shot at a time. You will need to reset the firing system with the bolt or cocking lever between every shot.
What BBs will work best in this airsoft sniper rifle?
BB pellets are, simply put, the ammo that your airsoft sniper rifle will be using. Choosing the right BBs can be just as important as selecting the right sniper rifle. This is because BB weight matters - this is simply how heavy the BB is. 0.20g is the most common weight of BBs, but you will find that you have greater accuracy if you use a heavier BB in this sniper rifle.
Do I have to buy a blue airsoft sniper rifle?
If you are asking this question, the answer is yes: you must buy a blue sniper rifle. If you are a newcomer to airsoft and have not attended an airsoft club or site, you will not currently be registered with UKARA. However, if you are over 18, you can purchase an Airsoft Two-Tone sniper rifle. These blue rifles are UK legal and comply with the VCR Act of 2007.
How can I buy a black airsoft sniper rifle?
You need to supply a defence at checkout if you want to buy a RIF (Real Imitation Firearm) - a Black / Tan / Gold / Silver with no blue. Make sure one of the following is true: the delivery address is not in the UK, you have a current UKARA membership, you have a current UKAPA membership, you are a member of a properly insured historical re-enactment group or society, you are a film, television or theatre production company, you are (or are acting on behalf of) a museum, you are a Crown Servant in pursuance of your Crown duties.
What is FPS?
FPS means ‘feet per second’ - a measure of velocity or distance travelled in a given second. So, in theory, the higher the FPS, the further the BB pellet will travel. However, you will also need to consider BB pellet weight and, importantly, if you are using a Hop-Up unit.
What is a Hop-Up?
A Hop-Up makes it so that when a BB is fired from the airsoft gun using a burst of compressed air, a small and grippy rubber pad rubs against the top of the BB. This has the effect of adding a backspin to the round projectile. Adding a backspin to any ball whilst flying through the air adds lift and therefore increases its range. Not all Airsoft Sniper Rifles have a Hop-Up, so please see the product description.

Our airsoft sniper rifles and accessories have a manufacturer's warranty, and we offer a full refund or replacement for any issues a gun may have due to the manufacturing process. However, this sniper rifle is not covered for damage caused by dropping or misuse. The warranty is also not valid if the product has been altered or tampered with in any way, including being taken apart for any reason.
