IWA Show Review Germany 2023 – IWA Germany is a hub for Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Industries – and in the past few years, it has been the go-to trade show for Airsoft. This is the second time I have attended the show; it was on last year but at a very small scale. Before that, it was closed for two years due to covid restrictions. Although this year was not busy with visitors and had a lot fewer exhibitors, I felt it was an excellent show, and the new innovation from most exhibitors was clear to see and very exciting.
Our friends at HFC announced the launch of their first AEG, I think there will be three different variants in either tan or black. These airsoft guns are developed on the M4 platform and look like something from Halo. I do think they are different enough to make an impact when available in late 2023. Let’s hope we get them before Christmas!

Recover is a new tactical component company at the show this year. Their pistol conversion kits are probably the coolest thing I saw at the show this year. Although developed for real steel pistols, many of their models will work with airsoft pistols, and if your looking for Glock accessories to make your favourite G17/19 pop, then Recover products are for you. You need to consider that these accessories are for real steel guns, so the quality and build are very high-quality and a bit pricy for airsoft. We hope to get stock within the next eight weeks, so keep an eye on our website for more info regarding evaluability.
King Arms had so much good new stuff it is hard to know where to start. The top airsoft rifle for me was their new range of LANCER L15 Rifles with Carbon fibre Lancer hand guard. As it is 100% carbon fibre, it is warm to the touch and looks very cool and is very durable.
The next range of airsoft rifles we need to talk about is the TWS 9MM SBR GBB Rifles. These full metal gas blowback rifles take a large standerd size Glock magazine, and you can even use your stander G series mags as backups. We are pleased to announce we have the UK exclusive on this range of rifles. We hope to have them in mid-summer, so again, please keep an eye on the JBBG website for more information.
Cybergun seems to of dropped all their low to mid-range airsoft guns and has moved to very high-end and very expensive branded replicas. They also now offer real steel firearms under a separate brand and were pushing this part of the business in a big way. They had three outstanding Scar airsoft rifles on their stand that were priced at the very top end but look and perform like the actual firearm, amazing quality if you have the budget.
We understand how hard it is to find top-quality TMC Plate Carers and accessories in the UK. Most companies that did send this kit from locations like Spain and Germany have now stopped due to the ridiculous import duty costs since Brexit. So I was very excited to find a new supplier with the range and quality we all seek. These TMC Plate Carriers and accessories will be with us very soon, and we have ordered everything in Multicam, Black and Grey as a start. The range includes a number of quick-release vests, lightweight plates for airsoft, large front mag pouches, top open pouches, lower open pouches, single-side mag pouches, vest-fitting backpacks and helmet carriers.
We went out for dinner with our friends from HFC, I personally have not seen them since before Covid, so it was great to catch up! We also had a great meal out with Airgun Shooter, and I would like to thank both HFC and Airgun Shooter for a great time.
Why do we always end up at the Irish bar? It’s too busy, too noisy, and there is no room to move – or maybe I’m just getting old!
Day two is about to visit the Umaerex stand; feet and legs tired already, lol.
