Additional information

If you are 18 years of age or over you can buy a two-tone Airsoft BB Gun, one which PRINCIPLE COLOUR is significantly different from that of a real firearm i.e. bright orange, green, blue, clear etc.

There is no age restriction to own or to operate an Airsoft gun or pistol. It is within the law for a person that is 18 years or over to purchase a two-tone Airsoft gun or pistol and gift it to a person that is under the age of 18 years of age to own and operate. So, a parent can buy a two-tone airsoft gun or pistol and give it to their child to use or keep regardless of their age. We recommend that an adult should supervise persons under the age of 14 years.

Since October 2007 you can only buy a realistic imitation firearm (one that looks like a real gun i.e. black, tan, gold or silver) if you are at least 18 years old and meet one of the following conditions.

You are a REGISTERED airsofter with a membership of an insured skirmish site. To be registered you must attend a properly organised and insured airsoft site and play for at least three days over a period of not less than two months. Even if you attend and play the three days in your first week, UK Law requires that two months pass from the first day attended before you can legally be registered.

  • The delivery address is not in the UK
  • You have a current UKARA membership
  • You have a current UKAPA membership
  • You are a member of a properly insured historical re-enactment group or society
  • You are a film, television or theatre production company
  • You are (or are acting on behalf of) a museum
  • You are a Crown Servant in pursuance of your Crown duties

If you cannot meet any of these criteria, you can still buy an imitation firearm, one which PRINCIPLE COLOUR is significantly different from that of a real firearm – i.e. bright orange, green, blue, clear etc.

Does this airsoft gun have a battery and charger with it?

No, and most airsoft guns do NOT include a battery or a charger unless it is either specified in the description or there is an option to add a battery to the product. If it does not say, then you will need to add a battery and a charger to your order.

When selecting your charger, you will need to match the battery type.

NiMH Battery Recommendation:
Battery: 8.4V 1600 MK2 Bulldog Airsoft Crane Battery (SKU: BULLBAT2MK)
Charger: Bulldog Pro Smart Battery Charger for NiMH NiCD (SKU: BULL1)

LiPo Battery Recommendation:
Battery: Bulldog Li-Po 1200mAh 11.1V 20C 13.32Wh High Power Airsoft Battery Pack (SKU: BULL-LIPO-11-1200-20-BAT1)
Charger: Bulldog B3 Li-Po Charger (SKU: BULL-LIPO-CHARGER)

What BBs will work best in this airsoft gun?

BBs or BB pellets are quite simply the ammo that your airsoft gun will be using. Choosing the right BBs can be just as important as choosing the right gun in terms of weight. BB weight is simply how heavy the BB is, with 0.20g being the most common so use that to start with. ROF is the rate of fire, or how many BBs you shoot per second. A high rate of fire sounds good, but the higher the ROF, the quicker you will use your ammo.

Don't worry about it too much. However, since you will be shooting a lot of BB pellets, we also recommend you think about the environment and use biodegradable BBs.

We Recommend:
Bulldog 0.20g BB White 2000 (SKU: GB0202000W)

Must I buy a blue airsoft gun?

If you are asking this question, then the answer is yes, you must buy a blue gun.

If you are new to airsoft and have not attended an airsoft club or site, then you will not currently be registered with UKARA. However, if you are over 18, you will want to purchase an Airsoft Two-Tone gun. These are blue guns that are UK legal and comply with the VCR Act of 2007. If you live outside of the UK, the VCR Act does not apply to you, and you can purchase either a RIF (black/tan) Airsoft Gun or an Airsoft Two-Tone Blue Gun.

A RIF is a (replica imitation firearm) and can only be purchased by licensed members of the UK or by persons living outside of the UK. If your billing address is outside of the UK and your delivery address is inside the UK, you will still need to be a licensed member to purchase a gun.

To be a licensed member, you must either carry a valid UKARA player registration number or be a registered and insured member of a re-enactment group or have other defence.

What is FPS?

FPS is feet per second in velocity and is a measurement of distance travelled. In theory, the higher the FPS, the further the BB pellet will travel. But you will also need to consider BB pellet weight and if you are using a Hop-Up unit.

What is a Hop-Up?

As the BB is fired from the airsoft gun using a burst of compressed air, a small and grippy rubber pad rubs against the top of the BB. This has the effect of adding a backspin to the BB. The backspin of the ball whilst it’s flying through the air is what gives it its increased range by adding lift.

How Long Should I Charge My Battery?

Standard Airsoft Batteries will take an initial charge of about 4 hours but no longer, and subsequent charges should last no longer than 2-3 hours. Remember to never overcharge your battery! If in doubt, purchase a good quality charger with a cut off feature, so no matter how long you charge, it will not damage your battery or have a fire risk.

When charging a Lipo battery, always use a Safe Battery Charger Bag!

What is the difference between standard airsoft batteries and Lipo?

NiMH batteries are like your everyday rechargeable AA batteries, common, very safe, withstand cold weather, and hold charge well, which can last for one to two years even when charged often.

Lipo batteries hold way more charge and last longer compared to NiMH batteries. LiPo batteries are the most advanced battery on the market. Used practically everywhere, including your mobile phone or tablet, these are the current-gen of batteries. They come in two voltages, 7.2v or 11.2v, perfect for an upgraded AEG with a high fire rate.

If overcharged, they can explode and cause chemical burns, fires, or even death in some cases. So only charge with a LIPO compatible charger with a full charge cut off, and never charge unattended.

Unlike the NiMH battery type, there are no methods for the LiPo battery's optimal and healthy life; just make sure to never let it fully discharge. So as soon as your AEG starts to slow down and the gears turn slower with each shot, get it on charge.
